Local Business Woman Picked to Compete for Team USA

Local business woman Jackie Miller, owner of Britfit Personal Training will be racing for Team USA at the Triathlon World Championships in France, July 15th 2007.

Jackie has over 10 years racing experience in triathlon; she has achieved “All American” status twice and has raced throughout the world. Her passion has always been the Ironman distance of 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run but this race consists of a 3000meter(2 miles) swim, 80K(49.6 mile) bike and 20K(12 .4 mile) run.

Miller knows she has a big task ahead of her as she prepares to race against athletes from all over the world. She stays busy following her training schedule, while working with her personal training clients (of all ages) and athletes. To help ease some of the financial costs she is looking for sponsors within the Town’s business community.

Funding is not provided as this is an amateur sporting event. She is expected to pay for all travel and lodging arrangements. Not to mention the everyday costs of staying healthy and getting into shape for the event. Over the past few years she has had the generous help from sponsors such as Crescent State Bank, Moe’s South West Grill, Make An Impression and Carolina Business Interiors.

Jackie has exposure to a large number of clients throughout the Triangle and Charlotte area. She reaches people through her website www.Britfit.com. She regularly gives educational clinics and does public speaking for various groups, spreading the message of health and fitness. Miller knows she is very lucky to have this kind of opportunity and looks forwards to embracing the challenge.

Athlete Elvis, AKA Bob, took part in his second Krispy Crème Challenge. He has found a new way to train for an Ironman by consuming a dozen doughnuts and running at the same time. He was awarded the prize for the most entertaining costume.
